Sara Connor Officially Free from Bali Jail After Serving Four Years

MININEWSPAPER.NET, BALI - Sara Connor officially released from the Denpasar Women's Prison today, Thursday (07/16/2020).


Sara Connor, an Australian citizen is one of the perpetrators of the murder of Aipda Wayan Sudarsa, a member of the Kuta Police Precinct in 2016.


Sara Connor was sentenced to four years in prison for the murder of Aipda Wayan Sudarsa with her boyfriend David Taylor by the Denpasar District Court Judges.


Exactly at 8:30 a.m., Sara Connor was taken out of the Denpasar Women's Penitentiary closely guarded by fully armed police officers, legal counsel team, Denpasar Women's Lapas officers, Kemenkumham officers, and Immigration officers.


Sara Connor appeared to cover her face and head using a rose-patterned cloth which she had tied around her neck.


Not a word came out of his mouth when a number of reporters asked questions.


He went straight to his pickup car that took him to the Denpasar Immigration Detention House (Rudenim) on Jalan Raya Uluwatu, Jimbaran.


Head of Bali Regional Office of Kemenkumham, Suprapto, said that his party would first hand over authority to the immigration authorities regarding Sara Connor's documents.


"We have not checked his passport and residence permit. We will first hand it to immigration. Related to whether it will be immediately deported or will be handed over to the ambassador of his country," he said.

Suprapto stressed that the process of returning Sara Connor to her home country, Australia will be carried out as soon as possible.


However, again it is determined by the management of documents such as passports and tickets waiting for the Indonesia-Australia International flight schedule.


"As soon as possible. But we know there are no flights every day (because of the impact of the pandemic corona)," he concluded
